In Bloom…

Have you ever had an idea? The kind that you feel in your bones? Your muscles? Your synapses? Your heart? When you think about it, everything feels natural. Scary, yes, but thrilling too.

Perhaps it started off, wispy as a cloud faintly streaking an otherwise clear blue sky. Or like a dream that touches you deeply but you can’t quite make out upon waking. It may haunt you. Lingering around corners, disappearing by the time you arrive to seek a clear view. That bird song in the distance you’re not quite sure you’re hearing and can’t exactly make out. Each time, calling you. Ever elusive, capturing your curiosity and captivating your mind.

What do you do when it calls you? Do you thank it graciously, letting it know while you ever so appreciate its stopping by, you’re terribly busy right now. I’ll have my people call your people and we’ll get something on the calendar? Do you tune it out, needing full focus on the task at hand? Just a distraction to be avoided? Do you accuse it of ill will? A hidden agenda defined by sabotage? Do you discredit it? Cutting it down before it’s had a chance to blossom?

Or, do you run to it? Lovingly, openly asking questions, probing deeper, ever-exploring? And, if you did run to it, skipping along the path slowly showing itself, embracing the seedlings along it, gifting them with attention and soul nutrients, would you find yourself…?

In bloom?
